Kipawa changu Mentorship program

Program Overview
Mrs. Evalyne Wangari Zurua – School Counselor/Program Facilitator

St. Aloysius is a school that sponsors Orphaned and Vulnerable children from Kibera Slums. Our commitment to supporting the students does not end with academics only but also forming them holistically to enable them to attain their goals in life. We also involve our students in community service to give back to the community.

Mentorship day is one of the days that students enjoy most at St. Aloysius. The day provides safe and quality activities that help develop youthful students into strong and healthy young adults. Hence equipping them with skills and knowledge to overcome obstacles that prevent them from becoming educated, self-sufficient and hence powerful citizens of their communities.

We have a monthly mentorship program that enables the career choice capabilities of the youths to facilitate progressive and duly informed future life choices. We also have mentorship programs for parents once a term. The program enables parents to gain the necessary skills for child upbringing and identify various hindrances in the child’s biopsychosocial development . Job shadowing is another program under mentorship  that exposes students to various opportunities to enhance good career choices.
